COVID - 19 Update

The government has issued new guidance for carrying out EPCs during this period of time.

We will continue to adhere to this guidance and have taken the decision not to carry out any non essential EPCs until government guidance changes.

Keep well, keep safe, stay at home and support the NHS

Here at Bluewire we have been closely monitoring the developments regarding the spread of COVID - 19.

Currently it is business as usual for us, albeit with a few minor changes.
  • Hand sanitiser will be used before and after all appointments
  • Disposable gloves will be worn for all appointments.
  • Our preference is to attend empty properties where possible. We understand that this will become increasingly difficult.
  • Occupiers will be requested maintain a safe space from the assessor
  • Occupiers will be asked the following when booking appointments;
    • Any overseas travel in the past 8 weeks
    • Any symptoms of COVID - 19 however mild
    • Any contact with people with COVID - 19 symptoms
    • If they have been advised by a healthcare professional to self isolate
  • If any of the above questions are answered in the positive the appointment will be deferred and you will be notified
We will continue to monitor the advice from the authorities and respond accordingly.
Thank you for your continuing business, let us hope things will return to normal in due course.

1st April EPC Changes

Did you know that the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards are updating on the 1st April 2020?

From that date you must not continue to let a property on an existing tenancy where the EPC rating is not a Band E or above.

At Bluewire we have experience of working with landlords to ensure that they get the best uplift in EPC rating possible for the lowest costs. The earlier you engage with us the easier it will be to provide you with some clear guidance based on the RdSAP data to improve your property.

Please don't rely solely on your electrician or gas engineer to guide your improvements as they may not, in our experience, give you an increase in your EPC rating.

Get in touch for a no obligation chat about you properties.
